What this figure is — and what it leaves out
The estimate is the variable fee only: your declared weight multiplied by the published per-material rate, in that country's own currency. That is the part of the bill that follows the official tariff and can therefore be checked against a source. Four things are deliberately not in the number:
- Registration and annual membership fees. Most schemes charge a joining or yearly fee on top of the per-kilogram rate. These are not published as a tariff table the way rates are — they sit in contracts and on scheme cost pages — so this site does not hold them as data and this page does not guess them. Check the scheme's own site, linked from your country page.
- VAT. Rates are published excluding VAT in most countries and including it in a few; each country page states which, in the declaration basis line.
- Bonus and malus modulation. Several countries raise or lower the rate according to recyclability, recycled content or colour. The estimate uses the base rate, which is the unmodulated figure. Where a country modulates, the result says so and links to the full table.
- Per-unit charges. A few countries charge per item as well as per kilogram — a weight input cannot produce those. Where they exist, the result lists them by name instead of folding a made-up number into the total.
This is reference data, not compliance advice. Rates change; the figure is only as current as the verification date shown against each line. Confirm with your PRO or your compliance provider before you file or budget on it.
Where the numbers come from
Every rate on this page is the same row that appears on the country's rate page, taken from the scheme's own published tariff. Nothing is averaged, converted between currencies, or filled in from a neighbouring country: a country either has a published rate for a material or it does not appear as a line. Currency is left as published — there is no exchange rate anywhere on this site, because we would have to invent the date it was taken on.
