How fees are set
The Producer Register (NPRB) — Statutory national producer register for Ireland under the European Union (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulations 2014; publishes the category listing and the visible Environmental Management Costs authorised by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications.
Ireland has two approved compliance schemes, WEEE Ireland and ERP Ireland, and neither publishes its prices. What is public is the visible Environmental Management Cost, a recycling charge authorised by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications for certain business-to-consumer categories of equipment. Producers invoice it to retailers, retailers must show it separately to the end user on each product line, and the amounts are printed in the national producer register's category listing - which is why Ireland has published WEEE amounts at all despite having competing schemes. Only ten categories carry one: two grades of refrigeration, heat pump tumble dryers, large televisions, gas discharge and LED lamps, large appliances, and large and small LED lighting equipment. The schemes' own Recycling Management Costs apply on top of the visible fee and may not be shown anywhere in the supply chain, so they are not public. The listed amounts include 23% VAT, unlike almost every other scheme in this dataset.

The Producer Register (NPRB) — every row below also carries: WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU category … . Business-to-consumer (B2C) products only - vEMCs do not apply to B2B lines and must not be charged on exports. Amount per item, INCLUSIVE of 23% VAT (the listing states this explicitly), unlike most schemes in this dataset which publish excluding VAT. Separate from Irish packaging fees (Repak) and from battery charges, which run through the schemes' RMC and are not published. These sentences are stored on every individual row in the dataset; they are printed once here rather than repeated on each line of the table.
ᴮ bonus / discount · ᴹ malus / surcharge. Comparability warning: Ireland is the only WEEE scheme in this channel that publishes VAT-inclusive figures, and the rate applies only to the business-to-consumer categories the visible environmental management cost is authorised for. Comparing an Irish figure with a VAT-exclusive figure from another country compares two different things. The separate recycling management cost that the compliance schemes charge is not permitted to be shown anywhere in the supply chain, so no public figure for it exists to publish.
